Replacement UPVC Door Handles
You can find the ideal handle for your door, whether replacing your handles or adding security. These upvc handles are easy to install and meet the required 92mm centres of multipoint locks.
The most important measurements to be considered are backplate fixing centres and lever/key hole dimensions. Make sure you compare these to your existing marks before ordering.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad handles are made up of a lever on one side, and a paddle-shaped handle on the other. They are designed to work with key wind locks however, they can also be used to multipoint split spindle door locks (though you'll need an additional dual spindle lock case).
Once you have selected the correct handle for the doors the finishes will be displayed in the drop-down list. Not all styles of handle are available in every finish and you should always check the technical drawings and sizes sections for the particular product you're looking for to ensure that you can get the correct size and fit.
It is important to ensure that when you choose a new set upvc lever pad handles, they match the PZ (distance from the handle spindle to the middle of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because the handles are required to be aligned so that the doors remain locked, regardless of whether you are viewing them from the inside or from the outside. Our handles are designed to fit a wide range of standard cylinders, but it is important to double-check before ordering.
If you want to upgrade to dual spindle levers, you'll need to take out the handles that are currently in use and then disassemble the lock case. This will require an extra split inline cylinder. They can be purchased separately and we have an entire technical diagram for you to look at in the images for each product.
It is a good idea to loosen the screws that hold your door handle, and then inspect the mechanism. You may need to loosen the screws even more when they aren't tight. Then you can remove the old handle and spindle and replace it with a new upvc door handle. It is important to ensure that the handle is in the right position prior to screwing it into place. You can do this by placing your finger between the frame of the door and the handle to make sure that it's in the right position.
Lever/Lever
Lever door handles operate a multi point lock using the Euro Cylinder and can be found on a majority of double doors made of aluminium, upvc doors and some wooden doors. They feature a lever inside and an outside paddle and are generally available in two different types. Sprung - These have an internal spring cassette within the backplate, which helps bring the handle lever into an upright position. Non-sprung - these do not have a spring mechanism, and must be manually pulled to bring the handle lever to a horizontal position.
To fix the door handle of a lever that is sagging it is necessary to locate the detent access hole or pin, which is typically a small round or rectangle shaped hole or protruding pin that is located on the opposite side of the base plate. Once you have located it, loosen the set screw using the help of a screwdriver, and then take it off to allow the lever and return it to its horizontal position.
Once the handle is in a horizontal position you can put the screws back in place and tighten them until the handle remains secure on the base plate. Consider applying a threadlocking product to the threads of the screw to increase grip and prevent the threads from becoming loose over time.
There are many reasons why door handles of levers slide. The most frequent cause is that the fixings aren't tight which causes the lever bearing to bind against the door. It could also be that the levers are not being operated in a straight line and this is causing compression of the latch mechanism and preventing it from fully springing back into service.
A common cause of spring levers that are not functioning properly is that the spring is not being in the right position on the backplate. The easiest way to test this is to operate the handle to check if it returns to the horizontal position.
If the door handles aren't tight, it is essential to spot the issue quickly, since this can lead to excessive wear on the screws and eventually to the handle falling off the base plate. It is recommended to tighten all screws that are loose on a regular basis in order to prevent them from becoming loose.
Lever/Snib
These upvc handles are called "Snib handle sets" and feature an snib lock button located at the top of the door lever. If you don't have a dummy locking device, you can use this to secure the door. They are usually fitted with a Fullex 68PZ (that's 68mm between the spindle's centre and the lever or lock centre) door lock. We also carry a selection of other 68PZ door handles from various manufacturers, including Ferco and Fab & Fix.

Mortise
The tubular latch is the most likely to be the culprit when your door handle made of uPVC is stuck open. This could be due to a number of things however the most frequent is the lack of lubrication on the latch plate. It is possible to solve this issue by opening the door, spraying lubricant on the lock and handle. It could also be that the latch has slipped away from the backplate. This is a more complicated problem that would require a professional.
